The club hadn't paid a bill to HM Revenue and Customs, and the case had gone from a small case to a complete brouhaha. It had seemed that the Eagles had won the case just a week before, only to be stopped by a technicality.

"Mr Caithness,do you swear under oath to tell the truth?"
"Yes,your Honour."
"Then the trial continues."

Three hours passed until the judge gave his final verdict. Then Eagles fans gritted their teeth nervously, with Caithness joining in.His rival,Don Jarman, executive director of the side, grinned sinisterly from the crowd, sticking out like a sore thumb in the masses of nervy supporters. He saw Jarman gesture at the prosecutor, but thought nothing of it.He was solely concetrating on two words,Not and Guilty.

The judge opened his mouth.`Get on with it,`Caithness thought to himself, glaring at the stand where he had just been relentlessly questioned.

"I,Martin Bollord QC,proclaim East Boldon Eagles Football Club guilty of tax evasion and failure to pay a £100,000 bill to HM Revenue and Customs.I also prevent Mr Robin Caithness from holding any chairman position anywhere for eighteen months."

Robin gasped and put his head in his hands. The mood was mirrored by the supporters.
